About The Position

The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating patient functional status. This role is for the South Recovery - PACU unit at Saint Francis Hospital South. The position requires a Monday - Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with call rotation required. The Registered Nurse will utilize the nursing process to care for patients, assessing, organizing, and completing patient care with consideration for patient age, cultural and psychosocial factors. They will document steps of the nursing process, utilize proper medical terminology, and address problems and progress toward goals. The role also involves facilitating patient discharge through timely, appropriate referrals and patient education, collaborating with other disciplines, and supporting unit/hospital goals through PI and educational activities. This position involves independent judgment in decision-making, coordinating activities of others (without direct supervision), and leading others in the same work performed. It requires frequent interaction with individuals at Director level or above.

Requirements

• Completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing, and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree therefrom.
• Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.
• Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
• Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
• Ability to be detail oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years of PACU, OPAD, ER or Critical Care related experience is preferred.
