About The Position

Baystate Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer, Massachusetts. The modern, community-based department has 20 beds, including two critical care bays, and cares for most patients in private rooms. Department resources include an in-department CT scanner and radiology unit, as well as support from the larger Baystate Health system.

The nurse provides individualized care to patients presenting with a range of urgent and emergent conditions and across varying levels of acuity, including patients who need critical care intervention and stabilization. This is a 36-hour-per-week night position, scheduled from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Requirements

• Diploma in Nursing.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Registered Nurse license for the State of Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for Emergency Department patients.
• Provide timely care to patients with a wide range of urgent and emergent conditions.
• Care for patients across varying levels of acuity, including those requiring critical care intervention and stabilization.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with established standards of care.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately to evolving clinical needs.
