Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
About The Position
St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department at Edgewood Hospital. The nurse provides and is accountable for evidence-based clinical care to designated patients using the nursing process: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care in accordance with ethical and cultural codes and nursing practice standards. The role works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes and requires treating patients, families, visitors, and colleagues with respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy, regardless of cultural background. The listed schedule is 60 hours bi-weekly, with a split 1/2 shift of 7A/9A Flex. The posting also lists 30 scheduled hours.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- If eligible, hold a Compact (multi-state) License in the primary state of residence.
- Meet contact-hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses.
- Have an educational focus that supports practice in the assigned clinical area.
- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, and policies.
- Demonstrate competence in mathematical calculations associated with medication administration.
- Be competent to independently perform safe nursing skills and procedures.
- Successfully complete preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area.
- Be able to critically think and problem-solve in routine and emergency situations.
