About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides cardiovascular nursing care in the Cardiac Services department’s Progressive Care Unit at Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center in Carmel, Indiana. The role implements and monitors patient care plans, monitors and communicates patient condition, coordinates care across disciplines, carries out physician and nursing orders, and coordinates discharge planning with the healthcare team. The schedule is PRN nights.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse credential obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- BLS Provider credential obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification accepted.
- Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at time of hire.
- At least 2 years of current or previous Cardiac Care experience.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced Life Support certification; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate the patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
