About The Position
Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neuro Intermediate Unit (NIU) at Baptist Health Floyd. This is a full-time position (36 hours weekly) with a focus on Weekend Only Work (WOW) plus one weeknight. The NIU is a 41-bed unit specializing in Neuroscience and Progressive Care (PCU) step-down nursing, providing care to adult patients with excellent nurse-to-patient ratios (3-4:1). The unit has 15 Neuro specific beds and 26 intermediate specific beds. Common neuroscience cases include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, TIAs, seizure/epilepsy, degenerative disorders, autoimmune disorders, and central nervous system disorders. As a certified Primary Stroke Center, the unit is recognized as a state-of-the-art stroke care center. The unit offers 24/7 leadership, including clinical coordinators and a stroke coordinator. New graduate nurses are welcome.
Requirements
- Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
- BLS for healthcare provider required.
- ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
- NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).

Responsibilities
- Responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge.
