RN 2CD Neuro Intermediate FT Nights
About The Position
Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neuro Intermediate Unit at Baptist Health Floyd. This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week on the night shift (7pm-7am). The role involves direct, comprehensive nursing care for patients from admission to discharge, functioning as an on-shift team member to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers. The Neuro Intermediate Unit (NIU) is a 41-bed unit specializing in Neuroscience and Progressive Care (PCU) step-down nursing, with excellent nurse-to-patient ratios (3-4:1). The unit cares for adult patients with common neuroscience cases including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, TIAs, seizure/epilepsy, degenerative disorders, autoimmune disorders, and central nervous system disorders. As a certified Primary Stroke Center, the team provides state-of-the-art stroke care. The unit is supported by 24/7 leadership, including clinical coordinators and a stroke coordinator. The NIU is described as a supportive environment that values teamwork, clinical expertise, professional growth, and mentorship, welcoming new graduate nurses.
Requirements
- Current Indiana or compact state RN or LPN license.
- BLS for healthcare provider required.
- ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
- NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).
