About The Position
Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neuro Intermediate Unit (NIU) at Baptist Health Floyd. This is a full-time position (36 hours weekly) with night shifts (7pm-7am), focusing on Weekend Only Work (WOW) plus one weeknight. The RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for patients from admission to discharge, functioning as an on-shift team member to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers. The NIU is a 41-bed unit specializing in Neuroscience and Progressive Care (PCU) step-down nursing, providing high-quality care to adult patients with excellent nurse-to-patient ratios (3–4:1). The unit has 15 Neuro specific beds and 26 intermediate specific beds, operating as an interdisciplinary team. Common neuroscience cases include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, TIAs, seizure/epilepsy, degenerative disorders, autoimmune disorders, and central nervous system disorders. Baptist Health Floyd is a certified Primary Stroke Center and a Pathway to Excellence® designated organization.
Requirements
- Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
- BLS for healthcare provider required.
- ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
- NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).
