About The Position

Pathway Family Services is seeking a Full-Time Lead Nurse for their PRTF (Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility). The Lead Nurse will lead a team of healthcare professionals, providing oversight and treatment planning for the physical well-being of children and adolescents receiving residential treatment for behavioral health needs. This role involves providing nursing care to children overcoming trauma, ensuring assessments are completed, medication management orders are fulfilled, and educating children and families about their care. The Lead Nurse and their team will coordinate health appointments and appointments with in-house medication providers, ensuring all documentation meets federal, state, and program requirements. The position requires a Registered Nurse licensed in Kansas and is an in-office position located in Topeka, KS. The schedule is flexible and determined in collaboration with facility administration to cover the needs of a 24/7 residential facility.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kansas.
  • Must be 21 years of age and 3 years older than the oldest resident.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must meet agency underwriting standards while driving agency or personal vehicle to transport clients.
  • Must have a valid drivers' insurance.
  • Must be eligible for credentialing with Kansas Medicaid for billing needs.
  • Completion of a Predictive Index assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals providing oversight and treatment planning for the physical well-being of children/adolescents.

  • Ensure all assessments are completed.
  • Ensure medication management orders are fulfilled.
  • Educate children and families about the care they are receiving.

  • Ensure all documentation meets federal, state, and program requirements.
