About The Position

The Registered Nurse will provide care to adult patients in a 38-bed MedSurg/Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5. Patients are particularly likely to be over age 65 and may have diagnoses including trauma, fall-related injuries, fractures, and motor vehicle collisions. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment and using a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

Requirements

• Documented experience in medical and telemetry nursing.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in geriatrics, trauma, and orthopedic trauma.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor heparin drips and other acute medications as ordered by physicians.
• Implement strategies to prevent hospital-acquired delirium, promote early mobility, prevent hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPI), and reduce falls.
• Use specialty equipment, including gait belts, geriatric chairs, and physical therapy equipment.
• Facilitate family communication and involvement in the care process.
