About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides acute care on Hanna House 3, a 20-room Med-Surg unit that can flex to 22 rooms. Patients commonly include those with CHF, COPD, and needs related to minor surgical procedures. The role requires knowledge of the nursing process and practice, use of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies, and a professional demeanor when responding to patients. Nurses work in a team environment that emphasizes going the extra mile for patients. The RN must hold a current Ohio nursing license and have at least one year of RN experience. A minimum diploma or associate degree in nursing from an accredited program is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred. Current American Heart Association BLS Provider Certification must be obtained during Nursing Orientation.

Requirements

At least 1 year of RN experience.
Thorough knowledge of the nursing process and nursing practice.
Ability to use a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies.
Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Ohio.
Current BLS Provider Certification from the American Heart Association, to be obtained during Nursing Orientation.
Minimum diploma or associate degree in nursing from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to acute-care Med-Surg patients, including patients with CHF, COPD, and minor surgical procedure needs.

Safely and securely maintain protected health information (PHI), following required training, the UH Code of Conduct, and applicable policies and procedures.
