About The Position

North Alabama Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) New Graduate to provide patient-centered mental health care as part of a supportive, collaborative team. The RN performs plan-of-care interventions, delivers and documents clinical care, monitors and communicates patient conditions, supports patients with daily activities, and coordinates with interdisciplinary care teams. The role also includes patient and family education, advocacy, performance improvement, and continuing education. Nurses may work other shifts or units as needed and may be assigned on-call.

Requirements

• Current state Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• Basic Life Support certification within 14 days of hire.
• One year of nursing experience.

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Document patient care in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial or spiritual support needs.
• Assess learning needs and provide age- and culture-appropriate patient and family education.
• Advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well-being.
• Participate in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provide quality patient care and work other shifts or units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
