Registered Nurse (RN) | Med Surg | Full Time Nights
About The Position
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the nursing care of patients requiring substantial specialized judgment and skill, grounded in knowledge of the natural, behavioral and nursing sciences and humanities and applied through the nursing process in wellness and illness care. The nurse models behavior consistent with the MLH Mission, Vision and Values. The role involves assessing patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, evaluating outcomes, communicating with patients, families and other health team members, and promoting professional practice across the nursing care team. The Registered Nurse directs and delegates patient care activities on nursing units.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Registered Nurse license from the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
- Skill and proficiency in applying highly technical principles, concepts and techniques central to professional nursing practice.
- Analytical skills to assess complex patient conditions and develop comprehensive plans of care.
- Ability to synthesize multiple sources of information to help resolve human responses to complex problems.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- No prior work experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely patient assessments.
- Develop a prioritized, holistic plan of care based on comprehensive assessment, desired outcomes and current knowledge.
- Safely implement the plan of care, directly or through delegation.
- Continuously evaluate the patient plan of care.
- Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with patients, families and other health team members.
