Registered Nurse, Pediatric Home Care – Flexible Shifts
About The Position
MedCare Pediatric is hiring Registered Nurses to provide skilled, one-on-one pediatric nursing care in patients’ homes. Nurses support children with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or those recovering from injuries or extensive surgery, helping them remain with their families rather than receive care in an inpatient facility. The role includes individualized care, monitoring, treatment, and timely clinical documentation. Structured 8–12-hour shifts and flexible scheduling are offered. New graduate RNs are encouraged to apply, and pediatric home health experience is preferred but not required.
Requirements
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license and current auto liability insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric home health experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled one-on-one nursing care to pediatric clients in a home setting.
- Care for clients with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or those recovering from injuries or extensive surgery.
- Assess client conditions during each visit, including monitoring vital signs and seizure activity.
- Provide care for gastrostomy tubes (G-tubes), tracheostomies, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilators.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and the individualized plan of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
