Registered Nurse, Pediatric Home Care – Flexible Shifts
About The Position
MedCare Pediatric is seeking Registered Nurses to provide private-duty pediatric home health care in the Greater Houston area and surrounding regions. The role provides skilled, one-on-one nursing care in patients’ homes, supporting children with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or those recovering from injuries or extensive surgery. Care is delivered in 8–12-hour shifts, helping patients remain with their families rather than in an inpatient facility. Experienced pediatric nurses and new graduate RNs are encouraged to apply. The position offers full-time and part-time opportunities, flexible scheduling, and day, night, weekday, and weekend shifts. Compensation is $31–$36 per hour, with night and weekend shift differentials. Nurses work with families, physicians, and an interdisciplinary care team and receive leadership and clinical support.
Requirements
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license and current auto liability insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric home health experience is preferred but not required; new graduate RNs are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, one-on-one nursing care to pediatric clients in a home setting during 8–12-hour shifts.
- Care for clients with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or those recovering from injuries or extensive surgery.
- Assess client conditions during each visit, including monitoring vital signs and seizure activity and providing care for gastrostomy tubes (G-tubes), tracheostomies, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilators.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and the individualized plan of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
