About The Position

Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - McKinney as a Registered Nurse and be part of something better! This is a full-time seasonal position requiring three 12-hour shifts for a 13-week contract (excluding the first week of orientation). A $1,500 completion bonus is offered for meeting minimum productive time. Eligible for shift differentials: $3.50 for evenings, $5 for nights, and $6 for weekends, which are stackable. The first week consists of Monday-Friday orientation. Although this is a short-term assignment, you will be a Baylor employee. The goal is to convert to a regular FT, PT, or PRN role after the assignment concludes. The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is a fast-paced environment with high acuity patients, and the leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. The patient population includes Medical PCU with all Cardiac drips, and a mix of surgical post-operative volume including vascular, ortho, neuro, and trauma. The patient ratio is 1:4, and the unit has 32 beds.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of PCU RN experience.
A degree from a recognized nursing program or two years of relevant work experience.
A valid Registered Nurse license.
The ability to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

Provide care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) environment.
Manage high acuity patients.
Administer care for Medical PCU patients including Cardiac drips.
Provide post-operative care for vascular, ortho, neuro, and trauma surgical patients.
Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4.
Participate in orientation and training.
