About The Position

The Charge Nurse will communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team, support and actively participate in shared governance/councils, and be committed to developing their individual knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development. They will evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and directly assist leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed. Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • ACLS – within 90 days of hire
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
  • NIHSS – within 90 days of hire
  • 1-year experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting required
  • Basic computer skills using Medical management application systems

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • 2-years’ experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting preferred
  • Current PCU experience strongly preferred
