About The Position

Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - McKinney as a Registered Nurse and be part of something better! This role is within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. The PCU leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. The patient population includes Medical PCU with Cardiac drips, and a mix of surgical post-operative patients including vascular, ortho, neuro, and trauma. The unit has 32 beds with a patient ratio of 1:4. It is part of Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas. Services include emergency care, heart and vascular services, orthopedics, oncology, primary care, women’s services, and a Level III Neonatal IC with private suites. The medical center's structure allows for expansion to 400 beds as community growth warrants. Requirements

  • A degree from a recognized nursing program or two years of relevant work experience
  • A minimum of (1) one year PCU experience
  • A valid Registered Nurse license
  • The ability to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) environment.
  • Manage high acuity patients.
  • Administer care for Medical PCU patients including Cardiac drips.
  • Provide post-operative care for surgical patients including vascular, ortho, neuro, and trauma.
  • Collaborate with a team that fosters learning, mentoring, and development.
