This is a 0.75 FTE position (60 hours per two-week pay period), working 12-hour overnight shifts with an every-third-weekend rotation. The 22-bed unit cares for patients aged 18 and older who have moderate to potentially severe physiologic instability and need frequent nursing assessment and intervention every one to two hours. The RN assesses, plans, delivers, and evaluates care for assigned patients in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures, professional practice guidelines, and the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act. The RN also assists physicians and staff in coordinating care, coordinates with the healthcare team, and delegates responsibilities as appropriate. New graduate and novice nurses may participate in the Nurse Residency Program, which supports the transition from nursing school to hospital practice. The 12-month program includes eight hours of structured learning every two months, mentorship, peer networking, practice-based learning, and hands-on clinical experiences.
