About The Position

This role provides direct clinical patient care in a high-risk obstetrics setting. The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing direct clinical care for assigned patients on a per-shift and unit basis, and for supervising staff to whom care is appropriately delegated. The role supports the CNO in ensuring high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, clinical staff competency, and appropriate management of patient-care resources.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice the profession as required by law, regulation in the state of practice, or policy.
• AHA BLS certification.
• AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certification if applicable under corporate policy for the unit of hire.
• One year of RN experience is required for PRN status.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing.
• Recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, safe, cost-effective total nursing care to all patients.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care based on the nursing process.
• Direct care according to established safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control standards, with the goal of discharging patients after providing an optimum level of care.
• Coordinate and plan patient care within the prescribed medical regimen.
• Administer medications safely and promptly according to hospital policy.
• Perform HICS responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed during emergencies or disasters.
• Know the hospital emergency codes, including their purpose and appropriate response, and follow related hospital policies and procedures.
• Supervise staff to whom appropriate care is delegated.
