Registered Nurse / RN Pre Op
About The Position
Join the team as a day-shift, PRN Pre Op & PACU Registered Nurse in Harker Heights, Texas. The nurse plans and delivers direct and indirect patient care, develops nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff as needed, and communicates changes in patients’ clinical conditions to physicians, the Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and coworkers as appropriate. Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services including cardiology, emergency services, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, total joint replacement, gastroenterology, and diagnostic services. Its emergency department is designated as a Level IV Trauma Center.
Requirements
- Complete the education required to obtain Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Hold a Texas Board of Nursing Registered Nurse license, or a current home-state license eligible for multistate recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Obtain BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.
- Hold ACLS and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association upon hire.
- Have at least 1 year of experience in a surgery setting.
- Be able to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
