About The Position

Geisinger Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Endoscopy Department. The RN will work in a fast-paced, collaborative clinical environment with gastroenterologists, pulmonologists, nurses, technicians, and coordinators to deliver tertiary-level care in a community setting. Procedures include EGD, colonoscopy, EUS, bronchoscopy, and ERCP. The position involves 10-hour day shifts and an on-call rotation that includes weekends and holidays, with a required 30-minute response time when on call.

The role supports patient-centered care, teamwork, responsiveness, and continuous growth. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. The position is accountable for fulfilling job-specific obligations and complying with organization policies and procedures; department-specific orientation competencies and skills are also essential.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license; the listed license is Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania).
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience is required in the qualifications section.
• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Clinical skills, communication, computer literacy, health information documentation, interpersonal communication, patient assessment and care, and teamwork.
• Participate in an on-call rotation that includes weekends and holidays; a 30-minute response time is required when on call.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in pre- or post-procedural care is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers during GI endoscopic procedures.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and conscious sedation.
• Monitor patients during and after procedures.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and recovery.
• Lead and support other clinic nurses and technicians.
• Maintain and inspect medical equipment and supplies.
