About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) works at Faulkner Place, a secure licensed residential treatment facility in Southeast Portland, Oregon, serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness who have a history of state hospital institutionalization. The program is transitional and helps residents develop greater independence through a high level of support and staffing. The RN coordinates treatment for the shift, implements medical interventions, makes treatment decisions within the scope of RN licensure, and provides care prescribed by physicians and nurse practitioners. The RN also supports a trauma-informed care environment and must understand how trauma can affect health, coping, and residents’ lives. The role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It includes a site and shift differential totaling $5.00 per hour in addition to base compensation. The RN works in a clinical outpatient or residential setting and may support resident access to the community using agency vehicles. Meal periods and breaks may be interrupted, and the work can involve unpredictable routines and exposure to risks associated with violence, illness, disease, biohazards, noise, and contaminants. The position is represented by a labor union.
