RN Registered Nurse Home Health PRN
About The Position
Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, provides home health, hospice, and community-based services. As a PRN Registered Nurse, you will coordinate and oversee patients’ home care, collaborating with care teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. You will assess patients, provide skilled nursing care, educate families, maintain timely documentation, and communicate patient progress to the clinical manager, physician, and care team. This position offers compensation through per-visit-point pay for visits and an hourly rate for certain non-visit activities such as orientation. Visits are assigned according to patient and business needs, and weekly visit volume varies based on productivity targets and the points assigned to each visit. Annual total cash compensation assumes full-time employment at 40 hours per week and full productivity; compensation varies with factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, productivity, and performance.
Requirements
- Current RN license specific to the state(s) assigned for work.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of clinical experience as a registered nurse.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of patients’ home care.
- Collaborate with patient care teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Educate families about the patient’s condition, needs, and care.
- Perform head-to-toe physical assessments.
- Check vital signs and manage medications.
- Give injections, provide IV therapy, or administer tube feedings.
- Administer and maintain catheters.
- Complete documentation accurately and on time.
- Supervise LPNs and HHAs.
- Regularly communicate patient progress to the clinical manager, physician, and care team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
