About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the ICU at Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh, Wisconsin provides care for critically ill patients. The nurse continuously assesses patients, implements and monitors individualized care plans, and tracks and communicates changes in clinical status. The role coordinates multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support holistic care from admission through recovery, evaluates and prioritizes complex physician and nursing orders, and plans for safe transitions after ICU care.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse credential obtained prior to hire or job transfer.
• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Life Support credential; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

• Continuously assess critically ill patients and implement and monitor individualized care plans.
• Track and communicate rapid changes in patients’ clinical status.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure seamless, holistic care from admission through recovery.
• Evaluate, prioritize, and execute complex physician and nursing orders.
• Assess discharge needs early and collaborate across the care spectrum to plan safe transitions after ICU care.
