About The Position

The Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (ICU RN) provides intensive care to patients with life-threatening conditions. The role requires advanced critical-care skills, quick decision-making, and compassionate patient care. The ICU RN monitors vital signs and blood oxygen levels, administers intravenous fluids, and communicates with the medical team to adjust care plans. This is a full-time, day-shift position with 12-hour shifts at Dallas Medical Center in Farmers Branch, Texas.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a Critical Care Course.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in an acute-care hospital; critical-care experience preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients through detailed assessments, care-plan development, and complex nursing interventions.
• Use cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices to monitor vital signs and physiological parameters.
• Safely administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products, monitoring patient responses to ensure effectiveness and prevent adverse reactions.
• Manage life-support devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients’ families and help them understand the care being provided.
• Document patient care to support continuity and compliance, and maintain infection-control and safety protocols.
