About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care (Step down) unit at Mary Immaculate Hospital delivers nursing care to patients in a setting that acts as a service line between Med-Surg and ICU. The role includes assessing patient status, prioritizing patient problems and needs, developing and carrying out care plans, and supporting improved patient outcomes in a safe and therapeutic environment. The RN works with the interdisciplinary care team, coordinates care across hospital departments, advocates for patient safety, and administers medications in accordance with state requirements and organizational policies. The posting identifies the department as the Med/Surg Telemetry Unit.
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- At least 1 year of RN experience.
- BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support from an approved source before providing direct patient care; ACLS is required within 6 months of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not required).
- At least 6 months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- BLS or ACLS certification at hire is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments; analyze assessment data, create and implement a plan of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
- Serve as a point of contact for patients’ care coordination throughout hospital departments.
- Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing departmental quality improvement.
- Administer medications safely in accordance with state requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
