About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care (Step down) position at Mary Immaculate Hospital delivers nursing care to patients in a progressive care setting, serving as a service line between Med-Surg and ICU units. The nurse assesses patient status, prioritizes patient problems and needs, develops and carries out care plans to improve outcomes, and ensures a safe and therapeutic environment. The role is in the Med/Surg Telemetry Unit and is scheduled for 36 hours per week on the day shift.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• At least 1 year of RN experience.
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification from an approved source before providing direct patient care.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not required).
• At least 6 months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• BLS or ACLS certification at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments; analyze assessment data; create and implement plans of care; and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Serve as a point of contact for patients’ care coordination throughout hospital departments.
• Advocate for patient safety by participating in ongoing departmental quality improvement.
• Administer medications safely according to state practice requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
