About The Position

This is a contract travel nursing assignment providing Level III NICU care at an acute care hospital in Apple Valley, California. The hospital has 212 staffed beds and approximately 190 births per month, and uses Epic for charting. The NICU has no NBO. The position is onsite and scheduled for night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week, from 18:00 to 6:30. The assignment duration is three months. The nurse may be required to float to Mother/Baby for babies; candidates with couplet-care experience may float fully. Work is every other weekend, with the possibility of additional weekend assignments to meet unit needs. Block scheduling is unavailable, on-call is not required, and the facility may call off one shift per two weeks. All requested time off must be submitted with the application and is subject to facility approval. Scheduling requests related to outside employment will not be considered. Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Requirements

Current RN licensure.
At least 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in a NICU specialty.
NICU Level III clinical competency.
BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
Ability to accommodate unit scheduling needs, including weekend assignments that may exceed every other weekend.

First-time travelers are not accepted.

Nice To Haves

Couplet-care experience, which may allow the nurse to float fully to Mother/Baby.
