About The Position

Contract assignments run 13–26 weeks and offer competitive pay. Contract roles focus on conversion to permanent employment, and extensions may be available based on business needs and mutual interest. Nurses work in a complex healthcare environment serving the communities of the region’s leading safety-net hospital. Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager or designee, and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, the Registered Nurse delivers care to patients throughout the life span, from neonatal through geriatric. The nurse provides professional nursing care in areas covered by the Specialty Staffing Team within the assigned clinical division and performs duties in accordance with Tampa General Hospital’s mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
BSN required.
ACLS required.
Minimum 1 year of experience in Med/Surg/Tele or ED required.

Nice To Haves

National Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement nursing care.
Document nursing assessments.
Identify and report situations requiring further intervention.
Formulate and communicate a goal-directed plan of care.
Assure patient rights.
Provide professional nursing care to patients throughout the life span in areas covered by the Specialty Staffing Team within the assigned clinical division.
