About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients and families using the nursing process to help them attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health. The role is in the UH Lake West Emergency Department, a Level 3 Trauma Center with 20 acute-care beds and five super track rooms for lower-acuity patients. The department is certified for stroke and chest pain care. The nurse delivers relationship-based care, applies technical skills to promote safe practice and positive outcomes, communicates and collaborates effectively to support patient care and clinical operations, contributes to professional nursing practice, demonstrates leadership, and upholds the hospital’s mission and values.

Requirements

Diploma in nursing, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
Current BLS Provider Certification issued by the American Heart Association; certification must be obtained during Nursing Orientation.
If selected to move forward, candidates without an Ohio RN license may receive an offer contingent on successfully obtaining the license within the timeframe discussed at offer acceptance.
Education and degree verification is required upon receiving a job offer.

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred.
Prior experience on a related unit or specialty through a practicum, internship, or work as an STNA, PCNA, or NAII is preferred.
