Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgery Unit
About The Position
Sentara is currently hiring a Registered Nurse to work at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital on the Surgery Unit 4 East. This is a full-time, dayshift position. The unit provides quality care to adult medical/surgical patients who are acutely ill or injured, specializing in post-operative surgical patient care. The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5/6 and is known for its great teamwork and staff longevity. The unit handles a variety of clinical conditions including general surgery (Davinci Robotic surgery, urology, gynecology), vascular surgeries, mastectomies, soft tissue traumas, and medical conditions such as diverticulitis, Crohn's disease, kidney injury, and sepsis. The unit is a diverse learning environment, welcoming to new graduates, and offers opportunities for professional growth, leadership, and advancement. Primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and overall patient care responsibility. Teamwork is exceptional on this unit.
Requirements
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- RN-Diploma, ASN, BSN or MSN from an accredited school
