About The Position
These assignments support the hospital’s Surgery Department and involve providing nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures. Surgery RNs assist with patient preparation, monitoring, documentation, and coordination with the surgical care team. Candidates will be interviewed and submitted to the facility for review. Start dates are determined by the facility after candidate selection.
Requirements
- Active RN license, Missouri or compact state
- Associate Degree in Nursing required
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Minimum 1 year acute care hospital experience
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- Surgery, OR, pre-op, PACU, or procedural area experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to surgical patients
- Prepare and assess patients before procedures
- Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Assist with surgical workflow and patient coordination
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and regulatory compliance
Benefits
- $32.85 per hour base pay
- $1,246 weekly stipend for qualified travelers
- $64 per hour blended based on a 40-hour work week
- Includes hourly wages and weekly stipend
