About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides direct clinical patient care and is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing care for assigned patients on a per-shift and unit-level basis. The role supervises staff to whom care is delegated and supports the CNO in ensuring high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, clinical staff competency, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.

Requirements

• Graduation from a state-approved or accredited school of nursing.
• Current license, certification, or registration to practice the profession as required by law, regulation in the state of practice, or policy.
• CPR certification.
• AHA BLS certification; AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certification when applicable under corporate policy for the unit of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing.
• Recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to patients.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care based on the nursing process.
• Direct care according to established safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control standards, with the goal of discharging patients having received an optimum level of care.
• Coordinate and plan patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
• Administer medications safely and in a timely manner according to hospital policy.
• Fulfill HICS responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed during emergencies or disasters.
• Know the hospital's emergency codes, their purposes, and the appropriate actions for each; follow hospital policies and procedures for emergency codes.
• Supervise staff to whom appropriate care is delegated.
• Support the CNO in maintaining high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, clinical staff competency, and appropriate patient-care resource management.
