About The Position

Hawthorne House is seeking Registered Nurses at all experience levels, including new graduates, to join its clinical care teams in local Maine communities. The role provides compassionate resident care in a supportive workplace that values nurses’ skills and professional growth. Flexible shift options are available. Compensation includes shift differentials of $2.00 to $6.00 per hour, and eligible employees can access benefits and career-development support.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing; new graduates are welcome.
• Current registration and licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine.
• CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation, maintained throughout employment.
• Knowledge and practical use of electronic medical records (EMR) and/or solid general computer skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English clearly.
• Effective leadership skills or readiness to develop these skills.
• Professional references and successful completion of the Maine State Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Work with supervising physicians to assess and monitor residents’ needs and provide bedside care.
• Record and track residents’ medical histories, symptoms, and vital signs, and accurately update charts and electronic medical records.
• Administer medications and carry out physician-recommended treatment plans.
• Follow federal, state, and local nursing regulations, standards, and facility policies.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and administrators.
