About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides safe patient care in the ICU using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and directs and guides patient and family teaching as well as the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care. The nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care of assigned patients, communicates clinical changes and relevant monitoring or diagnostic results to physicians, responds promptly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response, and maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintenance of certification.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintenance of certification.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; critical care experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a Critical Care Course.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

• Remain accountable for the care of assigned patients.
• Communicate changes in patient clinical condition, hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal results, and symptoms to the physician.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
