RN, Registered Nurse | Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery Clinic
About The Position
Emplify Health by Gundersen is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse to support the Orthopedic Surgery subspecialty in its Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery Clinic. The role is based at the Main Clinic, 2nd Floor, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, with potential outreach opportunities in Onalaska, Wisconsin, and Winona, Minnesota. This is a fast-paced outpatient clinic position involving pediatric patient care and collaboration with an experienced team. The nurse may also support orthopedic trauma, hand, shoulder, and total joint services. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week on 8-hour day shifts between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. There are no weekend, holiday, or call responsibilities. The starting wage is $31.98 per hour, with additional compensation based on experience. Emplify Health is a not-for-profit, patient-centered healthcare network formed through a partnership of Bellin Health and Gundersen Health System. It serves communities across Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, and Michigan's Upper Peninsula, with 11 hospitals and more than 100 clinic locations.
Requirements
- Minimum Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Active RN license to work in Wisconsin.
- At least 1 year of RN experience.
- Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in a busy orthopedic clinic, with a focus on pediatric patients.
- Support orthopedic subspecialties, including trauma, hand, shoulder, and total joint services.
- Perform phone triage and provide patient education.
- Manage EPIC in-basket workflows and MyChart communications.
- Coordinate pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Assist with pre-operative and post-operative appointments.
- Perform clinical procedures such as wound care and suture removal.
