About The Position

As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse at Deaconess Union County Hospital, you will provide direct patient care and make timely clinical decisions in a fast-paced emergency setting. You will use clinical judgment, critical thinking, and teamwork to deliver safe, efficient, compassionate care to patients during critical moments. The role includes coordinating individualized plans of care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and educating and supporting patients and families throughout their emergency care experience.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky or a compact licensure state.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain it within the established timeframe.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Previous Emergency Department, Critical Care, or Acute Care nursing experience.
• ACLS and/or PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced Emergency Department.
• Use clinical judgment and critical thinking to assess, prioritize, and respond to changing patient conditions.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to ensure timely, effective patient care.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, recovery, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and compassionate care.
