About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) works in the Department of Family Medicine, Community Internal Medicine, and Community Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine Primary Care at the Northeast Family Medicine building. The RN coordinates nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care. The role includes both visit and non-visit interactions with patients and their supporting care providers, with communication and collaboration among providers and other Care Team members essential to the work. Primary Care services include care for existing medical needs, preventative and acute care, and management of chronic conditions. Care is provided through provider or nurse visits, telehealth, and web-based care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across settings and the continuum of care, functioning within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model and the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice. The RN plans, implements, evaluates, and communicates all phases of nursing care for assigned patients, and provides leadership through precepting, formal and informal leadership, and quality improvement activities. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment involving close work with an interdisciplinary team and opportunities to build long-term relationships with patients and care providers.
