About The Position

Directs nursing service activities of the Labor and Delivery Department and provides specialized professional nursing care to patients in Labor and Delivery. Treats patients and their families with courtesy and respect, fosters parents’ trust in nursing, and helps them accept their responsibilities as parents. Supports medical care as directed by medical staff and in accordance with hospital objectives and policies. The work encompasses direct and indirect patient care.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or diploma in Nursing.
• At least 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience as a registered nurse.
• BLS certification.
• NRP certification.
• ACLS certification.
• Fetal Monitoring certification.
• Valid Texas RN license.
• Required certifications must be completed within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Direct nursing service activities of the Labor and Delivery Department.
• Provide specialized professional nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients.
• Treat patients and their families with courtesy and respect.
