About The Position

The Registered Nurse will join the Neuro Med/Surg team in Nashville, Tennessee, providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The unit has 20 beds and a patient ratio of 6:1. Tech support is available on day and night shifts, and a unit secretary is available from 7 AM to 7 PM. The role involves attentive, compassionate patient care, bedside shift reports, and engaging family members in the patient care plan. The unit uses Meditech for documentation and equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse oximeters, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, a bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology. The required uniform is navy scrubs, tops and bottoms. The schedule is three 12-hour shifts per week, including two weekends (four shifts) within a four-week schedule. Contract labor staff float first, followed by staff according to a rotation when multiple contract staff are scheduled. Requirements

Active RN license.
BLS certification.
Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience.
Ability to prioritize care and multitask.
Ability to start IVs, perform basic wound care, maintain surgical drains, and manage nasogastric tubes and chest tubes.
