This position is in a 16-bed Medical Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit at a Level 1 Trauma facility. The high-acuity unit cares for critically ill patients with complex and life-threatening conditions, including sepsis, spinal cord injuries, respiratory failure requiring intubation, skeletal traction, and complex surgical needs. The multidisciplinary team provides advanced hemodynamic monitoring and interventions such as proning, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and titration of vasopressors. The nurse practices within the full scope of nursing expertise and follows age- and population-specific standards for the assigned clinical setting. Responsibilities span preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up across the continuum of care. The role includes planning and coordinating care, patient assessment and education, triage, and other nursing interventions, in accordance with applicable nursing practice laws, rules, standards, and professional ethics.
