Carenest Health Services•Augusta, GA

About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) serving adults through geriatric patients. The unit cares for intermediate-level and medical-surgical patients, including patients with dysrhythmias, congestive heart failure, acute-onset stroke or stroke symptoms not requiring TPA or critical care, acute coronary syndrome, and/or myocardial ischemia. Patients are admitted directly from associated clinics, physicians’ offices, prompt cares, or other hospitals, as well as through the emergency room. This is a fast-paced environment focused on patient throughput and patient-centered care, with a strong teamwork dynamic. All patients are on hardwired telemetry, which is self-monitored by the RN. The unit has 12 beds and a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. Nurses may float within the facility as needed, within their scope of practice. Weekend work is every other weekend unless otherwise specified. Holiday work expectations depend on how many major holidays fall within the assignment period. The required scrub color is navy blue.
