About The Position

The Registered Nurse PCU works in the Progressive Care Department at Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo in Kokomo, Indiana. The nurse supports recovery by carrying out and adapting care plans for high-acuity patients, coordinating multidisciplinary care, closely monitoring patient status and communicating changes that may require rapid intervention, and leading discharge planning to prepare patients and families for the transition after hospitalization. The schedule is days, full time.

Requirements

• BLS Provider certification must be obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross credentials are accepted.
• Registered Nurse credential must be obtained before hire or job transfer.
• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Approved Local Exception (the posting notes an exception for Tennessee to add NRP and STABLE, or for unique union job requirements).
• Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Execute and adapt care plans to stabilize high-acuity patients and drive recovery.
• Coordinate the care team as the primary patient advocate to support seamless multidisciplinary treatment.
• Monitor patient status and communicate significant changes to enable rapid intervention.
• Lead discharge planning to prepare patients and families for life after the hospital.
