About The Position

Join the Special Float Pool at Memorial Hospital Belleville and Memorial Hospital Shiloh, part of BJC HealthCare, where flexibility and clinical variety come together in a dynamic care environment. This FT Night opportunity is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses seeking to expand their skills across ICU, Emergency Department, and Medical Telemetry while working within two Magnet®-recognized hospitals. In this role, you’ll provide care across both campuses, supporting diverse patient populations and contributing to exceptional outcomes through clinical excellence, adaptability, and teamwork. The float pool offers a unique opportunity to strengthen your expertise across multiple specialties while maintaining schedule flexibility and access to professional growth resources.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of acute care experience required
  • RN License
  • Nursing Diploma/Associate's in Nursing

Nice To Haves

  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
  • 2+ years ICU and/or Emergency Department experience
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (PALS preferred for ED)
  • Telemetry interpretation experience
  • Strong IV therapy skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.
  • Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
  • Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
  • Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Participates in professional development.
  • Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
  • Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
  • Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
  • Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
