RN - Registered Nurse - Wound Care Cert
About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. The role is in the Administration department at UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The nurse implements and monitors patient care plans, documents and communicates patient conditions, coordinates care across disciplines, carries out physician and nursing orders, and works with the healthcare team on discharge planning. A current wound care certification from a nationally recognized accrediting organization is required.
Requirements
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Current wound care certification from a nationally recognized accrediting organization, such as WOCN or equivalent; certification must be maintained in accordance with the certifying body’s requirements.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Professional licensure at the time of hire.
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification accepted.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to support well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
