About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides individualized, safe, high-quality patient care in the ICU, following current evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care. The role includes communicating with patients and the healthcare team, administering medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies, and maintaining ongoing point-of-care electronic documentation of assessments, care plans, interventions, and evaluations. The nurse also provides education for patients and families and collaborates on discharge planning to support safe transitions and continuity of care.

Requirements

Current and valid New Jersey nursing license.
BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
BSN in progress and/or willingness to acquire one within three years of hire.
At least six months of nursing experience, or active participation in Hackensack Meridian Health’s Nurse Residency Program.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
Strong accountability for improving the lives of patients and caregivers.

Responsibilities

Deliver nursing care according to current evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care.
Communicate with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members about patient status, care provided, and treatment plans.
Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
Document patient assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluations through point-of-care electronic documentation.
Provide patient- and family-centered education to support health, wellness, and disease management.
Coordinate multidisciplinary patient discharges to support safe transitions and continuity of care.
