Registered Nurse - Neurosurgical ICU - F/T Days
About The Position
Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Neurosurgical ICU on a full-time day schedule at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. The nurse delivers individualized, safe, evidence-based patient care in accordance with current research, nursing policies, and standards of care. The role involves communicating with patients and the healthcare team, administering medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies, documenting patient assessments and care electronically, educating patients and families, and coordinating multidisciplinary discharge planning to support a safe transition and continuity of care.
Requirements
- Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
- At least 6 months of nursing experience, or active participation in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
- BSN in progress and/or willingness to acquire a BSN within three years of hire.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
- Accountability for improving the lives of patients and caregivers.
- Strong teamwork skills, dedication to ongoing education, and commitment to patient-focused, high-quality care.
Nice To Haves
- At least 2 years of critical care nursing experience.
- ACLS certification.
- NIHSS certification.
- National certification.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, individualized nursing care according to current evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care.
- Communicate with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members about patient status, care provided, and treatment plans.
- Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
- Document patient assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluations using point-of-care electronic documentation.
- Educate patients and families to support health, wellness, and disease management.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary patient discharges to ensure safe transitions and continuity of care.
