About The Position

The Registered Nurse will work in the Cancer Center in the HOPE Tower at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. The role delivers individualized, safe, evidence-based patient care and supports communication, medication administration, electronic documentation, patient and family education, and safe discharge transitions. The position requires 10-hour shifts and is listed as full-time days.

Requirements

Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license.
BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
At least 6 months of nursing experience, or active participation in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
Obtain Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification within 30 days.
BSN in progress and/or willingness to acquire a BSN within three years of hire.
Willingness to work 10-hour shifts.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
Accountability for improving the lives of patients and caregivers.
Strong teamwork, dedication to ongoing education, and a patient-focused commitment to high-quality care.

Nice To Haves

Oncology nursing experience preferred.
OCN preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver nursing practices based on current evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care to provide safe, excellent, individualized patient care.
Communicate on an ongoing basis with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members about patient status, care provided, and treatment plans.
Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
Document patient assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluations of care in the Point-of-Care electronic system.
Provide patient- and family-centered education to support health, wellness, and disease management.
Coordinate multidisciplinary patient discharges to support safe transitions and continuity of care.
