REGISTERED NURSE (RN) - MED/SURG STEPDOWN
About The Position
The Registered Nurse works on Southwest General Health Center’s 32-bed 3E medical/surgical stepdown unit, which serves a variety of older adult patients with needs ranging from ambulatory care to complete care. Patient acuity is generally moderate, and the unit welcomes new graduates as a place to solidify nursing skills. The nurse plans, provides, and directs patient care and teaching using the nursing process, in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. The nurse acts as a liaison among physicians, patients, and families and collaborates with other healthcare team members. The role also assists with orienting new personnel and may participate in health center and department committees. Care must be appropriate to patients’ chronological age, developmental age, and/or psychosocial maturity. The position has no call or rotating shifts.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
- Current CPR and BLS certification.
- ACLS certification required within one year of hire.

- Medical/surgical experience preferred.
