Registered Nurse–Med/Surg–Part time Days
About The Position
The Registered Nurse works collaboratively at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide excellent, evidence-based, individualized patient care. The RN facilitates all aspects of the patient visit experience and contributes to care that addresses patients physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The role follows hospital nursing practice standards and includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care; identifying patient needs; taking appropriate nursing actions; documenting care; and involving patients and their families in care planning and expected outcomes. The position is part-time, scheduled for 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., including every other weekend.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in Pennsylvania or a compact-state license.
- BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Follow hospital nursing practice standards and appropriately assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Assist emergent patients and document care using the Emergency Room nursing tool.
- Identify patient needs based on objective data and complete appropriate documentation.
- Implement appropriate nursing actions for identified patient needs.
- Make decisions based on knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
- Discuss planned patient care and expected outcomes with patients and/or their family or significant other, include them in the discussion, and document it.
- Identify and appropriately use a multidisciplinary approach to facilitate patient care.
